On Thursday, February 27, 2020, with the participation of Hans Westerhof EIT RawMaterials trainer, a workshop was held to develop business skills and a business plan to support the prestigious European format competition, the EIT Jumpstarter.

The EIT Jumpstarter 2020 was a really interesting event. Hans initially introduced EIT RawMaterials to the participants. He continued with startups, business ideas and how to improve them, how a business plan could be realized from ideas to the final stage, products, and services placed on the market.

During the workshop, participants had the opportunity to test their ideas from different perspectives, especially from the customer’s perspective. They talked about why people buy products, why they need them. They learned that the best way to start a business or run it is to find solutions to some of the existing problems and understand the psychological side of the customer.

Thanks to the business analysis Hans developed at the workshop, the participants realized that their business idea could be real, but they had to proceed systematically, adapt the plan to requirements and conditions and manage it effectively.

At the end of the event, the participants went through an assisted application process to the EIT Jumpstarter to be able to push any ideas forward in the future.

The event was realized thanks to the organization of EIT RawMaterials Regional Center Košice at the Faculty of BERG, TUKE and with the support of UVP Technicom.
