SIGN: Green and circular metals
Green & Circular Metals
Building a resilient and competitive Circular Economy is a cornerstone of the European Union’s approach to secure access to raw materials. The EU’s Critical Raw Materials Act sets out clear benchmarks and measures: 25% of the EU raw materials consumption must be delivered from to domestic recycling, and 40% via domestic processing. This approach will be further strengthened by the incoming Circular Economy Act, promoting sustainable product design, enhancing recycling and reuse, and reducing waste, thereby supporting the transition to a truly functioning circular economy.
From challenge to solutions
The EIT RawMaterials Strategic Impact Groups & Networks (SIGNs) offering provides a powerful platform to help companies navigate these complex challenges and secure a competitive edge by accessing innovative technologies, a skilled workforce, and public and private funding. Our Network, the largest raw materials knowledge and innovation community worldwide, also acts as a sounding board for public policymakers shaping EU policy in the field.
The upcoming Green & Circular Metals’ SIGN will focus on helping companies align with global sustainability standards, reduce their carbon footprint, and contribute to net-zero goals. Whether looking for solutions in carbon-neutral production, sustainable material sourcing (including lifecycle analysis, traceability, and supply logistics), or specific recycling technologies and circular economy strategies, the Green & Circular Metals’ SIGN is your gateway to the tools and expertise needed
for a successful transition.
